Shasta Garcia & Arvi Raquel-Santos
Topic: "You Have a Great Portfolio, Now What?" Arvi Raquel-Santos and Shasta Garcia from Weymouth Design will share their individual work experiences, including what to expect after leaving the design school bubble. Arvi and Shasta will facilitate a workshop to stretch your design thinking and show how design can be more than just a logo or brochure.
Bio: Weymouth Design is a design firm for leading businesses, from Fortune 500 companies to pre-IPO start-ups. With offices in San Francisco and Boston, Weymouth Design focuses on visual communications, in print and online, from annual reports to full branding programs to immersive online experiences and websites. Their creative thinking and innovative work has helped launch remarkable companies, products, events and services, and has strengthened winning brands and reputations since 1973 in biotech, life sciences, financial services, high technology, music, and education.

Henrik Olsen
Topic: "Designing for tablet based experiences". Erik will go over the fundamentals of designing visual user interfaces for multi-touch devices, such as the iPad. He'll be talking about behavior animations, usability issues, enabling technologies, and will present several of projects that Hot Studio has recently completed for Zinio, Palm, and Kno. Within the workshop students will go through a rapid ideation process in which they could brainstorm ideas for their own iPad app as well as group critiques and more.
Bio: Henrik Olsen is a Principal, and Creative Director at the San Francisco based interactive design firm Hot Studio, and has led the visual design discipline since 2002. Bringing his deep foundation of brand identity and online interaction design, Henrik has directed projects across Hot Studio’s full portfolio of clients. Recent client engagements have included SFMOMA, Dwell, eBay, California Academy of Sciences, Cisco, and Gap.
