March/April Stuff

Hey AIGA,

Thanks to everybody who showed for the meeting on tuesday. I think we seriously made progress.

Here are the major points of the meeting, followed by a brief description of what we're doing right now:

• Tshirt ideas are due at our meeting after break on 3/23 - which will be at Woodstock's
  
  
• Fundraising is our next big priority, and we have decided to get a booth for sales of coffee/hot choco. and decals. (important details below)
  
  
• Members from last semester are finally getting access to their accounts. AIGA is not allowing us to add a few more people at the group rate, so people who want to join now will be $75 instead of $50. We are highly recommending doing this - now or at your own discretion. Either way - you can be a member of our on campus group, no problem.
  
  
• We have got an idea for our first trip - which we are -at the moment- planning on going to San Francisco April 2nd. This is coming up! DIP may or may not be doing something similar on this day, and if they are - maybe we can join them. We also realize this is the weekend before Portfolio Review. You can do it! Plan ahead, get stuff done early, we've got faith in you.

So -- On the tshirts, design in (2) colors. Design in vector if you can, but we can probably convert it if you don't. Prepare for 15 bucks a piece on tshirts. It is possible that we could pay for the shirts with money that we raise, but we probably want to get the tshirts before then, so for now, prepare for 15 bucks on those.

On our fundraising, we are looking into getting a table and some times to set up out there. Lets talk about who can do what shifts at the booth. Also, more importantly, design some decals we can sell. If everybody could have an idea for that at woodstocks next time we meet, that'd be great. What's funny and/or relevant and original that will sell to Chico students?

First trip stuff - we have a few ideas already of where we would go in SF. We need people thinking of places to go and things to do. Current ideas are to go to pentagram and ideo, the classic places to tour. Any more ideas? Please do some research! Also, lets start talking about who's driving. We have a possible van...which would be sweet.

So our next meeting is at Woodstock's on Tuesday the 23rd. We will look at our desigs for shirts and vinyl decals, talk a bit more about our trip, alll while eating some serious Zza. (That's right - I said Zza.) Important - Everybody bring 5 bucks for pizza.

Most importantly right now - try and relax for a week. We've all had a crazy semester thus far, and its time for a little R and R. Don't forget to have a GREAT St. Patty's!
